Abstract

This study explores the transformative impact of e-commerce platforms on small businesses within the creative economy sector. Utilizing a qualitative methodology with literature review and library research, the study synthesizes findings from academic publications, industry reports, and case studies to identify critical themes and insights. The research reveals that e-commerce platforms serve as vital enablers for small businesses, enhancing market access, reducing operational costs, and fostering innovation in product development and marketing strategies. By leveraging digital marketplaces, small businesses in the creative economy can reach global audiences, scale operations, and compete with larger corporations. However, the findings also highlight significant challenges, including digital literacy gaps, logistical complexities, and the dependence on platform-specific policies. The study emphasizes the need for comprehensive support systems, such as digital training programs and government-led incentives, to ensure equitable access and sustainable growth for small enterprises. Additionally, the analysis underscores the role of customer engagement and data-driven strategies in maximizing the potential of e-commerce platforms. This research contributes to the ongoing discourse on digital transformation by providing a nuanced understanding of how e-commerce platforms reshape business models in the creative economy. The findings offer practical insights for policymakers, platform providers, and entrepreneurs aiming to harness the benefits of digitalization. Future studies are encouraged to explore sector-specific dynamics and the long-term impact of e-commerce on economic resilience.
